Peter Lloyd began making boxes professionally in 1991. The one characteristic common to all of his work is his selection of materials - he only uses wood to craft his boxes (even the hinges are made from wood). This book features 11 of his designs, all of which (bar two) are sorted by hinge type: pivot, strap or back. They include a desk box, mitred finger-hole box, cash box, writing slope, stationery box, jewellery box and chess box. Each project has an exploded drawing and some in-progress photos, making the instructions easy enough to follow. There are, however, no cutting lists so you will have to wade through the text to get the measurements. Overall though, both the book and the boxes are good - worth a look if you're into box-making (or want to be).
