David Ellsworth is a woodturning legend sometimes called the ‘grandfather of contemporary wood art movement’. Famous for his beautiful, thin-walled and often large hollow turnings with tiny openings, he’s also known for the techniques and tools he developed to create them. In this book, with 50 years of experience to qualify him, Ellsworth writes about how he works and the techniques he has developed. He talks about the physicality of woodturning, and how attention to posture and stance can prevent tension and improve your work. The book is autobiographical in a sense as it gives insight into the attitudes and processes of a master.
