This well priced book is all about the design and making of built-in cabinets, shelving and entertainment units. In many ways it’s a complete woodworking primer but the focus is on functional cabinetry that optimises areas in the home devoted to storage and/or display. The chapters progress through design, materials, carcase types, shelves, doors, drawers, benchtops and hardware options. There’s information about installing specialty hardware and about designing around electrical equipment. It’s not a book of plans, although there are images to inspire. This book is more about discussing considerations and options. If you’re planning some DIY work at home this book will help to finesse the results you’ll achieve.
