Andy Rae is a woodworker’s woodworker, all about the details of fine crafting techniques. Doors and drawers can easily find their way into the too-hard scrap bin for starting-out and even fairly practiced woodworkers but mastering the infinite number of problems that can arise is a real step up. Designing, building, fitting and finishing drawers each take up their own chapter. ‘Special’ drawers (secret, curved, tapered) gets another. Doors get the same kind of chapter treatment. All the way through there are diagrams, sketches and detail photos to make it all clear. There are also several sidebars on fixing up some of the things that can go wrong. This is not a project book but rather one that details good technique. Two accompanying DVDs are also available for separate purchase.
