Woodworking 101
Price: $29.99 Code: 1008

As reviewed by AWR: Can one book tell you everything about woodworking? No. But this book goes a long way. Starting with tool selection and basic usage, both power and hand, the book covers buying and setting up considerations. The tightly edited text and excellent photographs are enough to whet your appetite as well as guide you in usage. Machinery comes next with short but succinct explanations of what to buy, what it can do and safety tips. There are some workshop set-up and storage projects that are great for skill-building. Then come the six projects that are arguably the best part. The first three are quite achievable for the beginner with step-by-step photos and in-brief text. Minimal tools are required for these however the last three projects are more advanced requiring power tools and higher skill levels.

Woodworking FAQ
Price: $19.99 Code: 1012

As reviewed by AWR: If you are the kind of woodworker who dreams and reads about woodwork in addition to spending goodly amounts of time in the shed, you might like this spiral-bound book of tips, questions and answers for the rest of your day. The tips are are well organised into chapters that cover workshop setups, wood and other materials, hand and power tools, glues, joinery, techniques, and the list goes on. The author has an easy-going but informative style and there’s a fair amount of humour interspersed. No photos but lots of drawings and diagrams. A good present for the woodworking addict.
