Schwarz takes an in-depth look at bench design and material selection, casting an eye back to ‘the old countries’ and olden times. Bench variations and accessories are covered, all the while with a focus on usage and purpose. There are some diagrams and lists, but this is mainly a book about design considerations; read it and you’ll design and build a bench that does more for your woodworking than you could have imagined. Brown/black and white images only add to the books historical perspective.
