Not everyone loves this kind of wood art, but for those who do this book offers some practical fun with the outcome of some eye-catching wall features. Intarsia is a kind of wood inlay, where jigsaw pieces are assembled and shaped in a relief carving style. Different species, stain, colour, other materials may be used to ‘paint’ a picture. There’s an intro then 12 projects each with a numbered cutout plan, step-by-step photos, text and tips. Nine extra plans are included in a sealed envelope.
