Description: AWR Review -

The scroll saw has many uses but its accuracy and small size makes it ideeal for box making. American box maker Gary Mackay shows how its usefulness can be extended from making basic boxes with lids (square, triangle, heart or peanut shaped) through boxes with drawers (two, three, four or more) to fancy laminated boxes including chequerboard and pie segmented designs. Scroll saw techniques including stack cutting (for making multiple parts) are described and illustrated in detail. Timber preparation, lining boxes, wooden hinge making, and finishing are also covered. Full size patterns accompany the 30 box projects.
